(Alexandria, VA) – Today, IMGE announces SOC 2 Type II certification. A SOC 2 Type II report is based on the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) trust service principles. There are five trust service principles that cover security, availability, process integrity, confidentiality, and privacy. The report IMGE received certifies that IMGE has relevant controls in place that have been audited by an established firm and are effectively designed and implemented over a period of time.
Prior to the audit, IMGE designed and implemented numerous internal controls, from HR to IT, and developed a systematized approach to how and why things are done in every area of the business. This readiness phase took approximately six months, followed by a six-month audit of how the controls at IMGE operated during the period.
“Our team put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this process. It was a massive undertaking to get SOC 2 Type II certified as a small business. We learned how important it is to structure processes and procedures that enhance our offerings and security but don’t cause a hindrance to our ability to be an agile small business. This accomplishment is something we are incredibly proud of,” said Megan Foote, Executive Vice President.
While three staff members led the process, this was truly an all-company initiative during the audit, as the internal controls only work if every single staff member understands the importance of these controls and is bought into the processes.
