Roday has served in a variety of positions on Capitol Hill, including Communications Director for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and spokesman for former House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-WI).
Founded in 2016 by Phil Cox and Marie Sanderson, former senior leaders of the Republican Governors Association (RGA), GuidePost Strategies is a federal strategic consulting, government, and public affairs firm which specializes in message positioning, legislative strategy, and issue management and advocacy.

Roday brings over a decade of senior political campaign and government experience, at both the state and federal level, to GuidePost Strategies. He joins the team from the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce, where he deployed a campaign-style engagement strategy as the chief communications advisor to the congressional committee with principal responsibility over public health, food and drug safety, energy and environment, telecommunications, technology, digital privacy, and consumer protection policy.
Roday previously worked for the Republican Attorneys General Association (RAGA), as their first-ever communications director. He developed and implemented campaign strategy and messaging for more than 20 incumbents and candidates running for attorney general in 2018. Before that, Roday spent nearly two years as press secretary and spokesman to former U.S. House Speaker Paul D. Ryan’s national political organization and re-election campaign. He provided strategic communications advice to the speaker as well as dozens of campaigns for Congress across the nation.
Roday also served as a top aide to Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker’s successful re-election in 2014. In 2012, Roday was a national advance representative on the Romney for President campaign. In his prior government roles, Roday served as communications director to former Congressman David Young of Iowa, as well as an aide to former United States Senator Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. He has also worked as the director of public affairs for a national military non-profit and remains passionate about volunteering his time to support our Armed Forces and their families.
A native of Orange, Conn., Roday is a graduate of the University of Connecticut with a degree in Political Science. He now resides in Burke, Va., with his wife, Alleigh and daughter, Margo.
